In addition with our MPA Fund we have helped 76 veterans and 111 beloved furbabies in disbursing a total of $62,484 covering temp boarding and veterinarians costs. Since we began through our Pet Foster Home program we have reunited 115 companion animals with their owners (deployed following a combat or peacekeeping mission and our veterans who have faced major inpatient medical or homelessness situations). I'm the current CEO/President of this organization and want to thank our donors, our registered foster homes, and our Admin/Support volunteers who spend their time between jobs and family being there for our deploying and veteran pet owner. Thank you from the bottom of every dog/cat lovers heart for doing what you do! Whenever I hear of a military person who has no choice but to surrender their beloved friend, I always make sure they know about Guardian Angels for Soldier's Pets. Their bond is strong and when the soldier returns from deployment, that pet will definitely play a part in their readjustment-there is no better medicine! I have sons in the military who thankfully have not had to go through this. We have all seen videos of soldiers returning to their pets and how emotional it is. Thankfully, there is Guardian Angels for Soldier's Pets! What a literal lifesaver this is for those who do not want to give up their beloved cat or dog. Having to surrender a pet because there is no one who can care for them while the soldier is gone is an emotional wound that places the soldier in a painful place before they even deploy. What happens with a soldier's (sailor's, marine's, etc.) pet when they are deployed is often not thought about.
